Celebration in the country

Last weekend, a work colleague invited me to celebrate one of the most important moments in his life. On April 14th 2009, his son and daughter-in-law veered off the street and frontally crashed into a tree. The car was ready for the scrap heap, looking like an accordion, but the both of them remained unharmed. Ever since, he annually celebrates his son’s second chance at life. And as with any Serbian festivity to be taken seriously, a specifically butchered and prepared spit-roasted pig is not to be missed ;)

Traditionally, one sits by the fire, next to the turning pig on the spit, drinking beer or rakija and exchanging stories. But I was able to sneak out with the DP2m and SD1 briefly to take some more photos of the scenery. :)

You can find additional DP2m photos on Pinterest or Flickr. Additional SD1 photos on Pinterest and Flickr.
