The Chinese website Xitek posted the first benchmark test with the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art. In it, four of the currently best 50mm lenses with aperture f/1.4 compete with each other: the Sigma, the Sony Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 ZA SSM, the Nikkor AF-S 58mm f/1.4G and the already legendary Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4. The website only just tested middle and corner sharpness and vignetting, though I have to admit that I don’t really grasp the vignetting graph. 🙂

No, apparently it was no hype!
The crops really look promising. I am looking forward to further, more detailed tests and sample images. As you know, not only sharpness is an issue. Important as well are distortion, bokeh, AF, etc.
