According to various macro photography experts, it is best to avoid taking macro photos in windy weather. They say that the reject rate is too high, and that it will only lead to frustration. Yet when windy weather with plenty of sunshine was forecast a few days ago I wanted to try it. I took my Sigma DP3M and the Marumi and went on a hunt for insects. Three hours later I understood once and for all why experienced macro photographers don’t recommend it. It was the most frustrating macro tour I’ve ever done. 😛 It must have taken me twenty attempts for every sharp photo. In order to prevent motion blur I had to shoot at maximum aperture at times, which led to even more rejects.
Even so, when back home I found more than a dozen decent photos among the many, my feeling of success was even stronger. 🙂
Of course I had to include a few cat pictures. 😉
