Searching the Web one can really easily find interesting, fascinating and funny stuff regarding photography. But, to be honest, I can’t remember finding anything like the stop-motion-animation by Marty Cooper, which you can view below. The whole thing looks quite simple in terms of technology and quality (the pictures were taken with an iPhone), but I guarantee you that the clip will put a smile on your face. It’s unbelievable what you can accomplish with the simplest tools (any sort of camera, a transparent foil and a magic marker) and a lot of creativity and talent. Sometimes one tends to forget about that when concentrating too much on technology and gear. 😉
How are those animations produced? The Keyword in this case is Cel, from Celluloid, which stands for single sets of animated content on transparent foil. Please check out the Wikipedia article link. There is much more work behind such a short animated movie than one would assume.
