The 18-35mm f/1.8 Art is without a doubt one of the most interesting APS-C lenses released in recent years. It received a staggering amount of praise in the reviews, even in those where it was pitted against prime lenses. It outclasses garden-variety standard zooms with f/2.8 aperture mercilessly and allows APS-C camera users to get a taste of full frame, even though the focal length range is limited compared to 24-70/2.8 FF zooms. Image quality is supposed to be extremely good even wide open, although it is faster than other APS-S standard zooms by 1.33 stops, thanks to its f/1.8 aperture. I wanted to know just how good it is, so I had to buy it. At a later point in time I will compare it with the 35mm f/1.4 Art and the DP2M’s 30mm f/2.8. For now I will be taking photos with the lens. Scroll past the images of the lens itself to see my first shots taken with it.
As soon as I’ve taken more photos with the 18-35mm f/1.8 Art I will upload them to my Pinterest and Flickr.
