I’m a mediocre photographer, who casually speaking shoots a lot of crappy photos. I delete most of them right after capturing them. For the majority of the shots, that make it through the deleting frenzy during a photo walk, my PC’s hard drive is only an intermediate station – recycle bin being the final destination. Out of thousands of images I made in course of 2014, I “only” post processed 779 and uploaded them to Flickr and Pinterest. But even most of those photos are not exactly brilliant. Only a small percentage of them were met with enthusiasm by the users of both communities.
Even though not more than 10-15% of the photos were good, it makes it hard to choose the best 30 out of those 70-100 photos. For this reason I prefer to trust the feedback of flickr users and the „Interestingness“ algorithm on Flickriver. 🙂
I find it a pity that many of my personal favourites didn’t make it into the TOP 30. These 5 are IMO much better than some of the photos shown above.
