You don’t get the chance every year to go for a long walk on Boxing Day. But thanks to the unusually high temperatures that wasn’t any problem this year. On the contrary, taking a walk in the sunshine at 11°C was very pleasant. In my photo bag I had the Sigma DP3M with the achromatic lenses Marumi DHG200 and Raynox DCR-250 – just in case some macro motifs might fly or crawl in front of the lens.
Unlike last time, insects kept buzzing around almost everywher. Nevertheless I wasn’t so lucky with shooting photos. I saw surprisingly many bees flying from flower to flower, but they seemed stressed and in a hurry. I wasn’t able to shoot any pictures that quickly. Even the little spiders hiding under the foliage didn’t want to have their picture taken. As soon as I came closer to one with my camera, it escaped right away. After several unsuccessful attempts I toyed with the idea of walking back home. But finally I discovered a grasshopper which was as patient as the fly last time. 🙂
Next time I’m going to take along the DP2Q instead of the DP3M in order to experiment with the Raynox.
