Recently I got surprised by a rain shower on my photo walk. The gray sky had already been an indicator, but still I didn’t want to miss the chance of escaping the city on my bike and riding along the river. It was even nicer when it turned out to be only a short cloudburst and the sun reappeared right after the shower.
The clouds and the sun twinkling through created a wonderful white light, making the green colors of the plants near the river shine in beautiful shades – so all that was perfect for my camera.
That’s why I was able to take some nice landscape pictures with my favorite lens, the SIGMA 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM.
The minimum distance from the lens to the subject is 28mm, which allows you to get pretty close to the subject while you still have some free space left in the picture for the background, which frames your subject harmoniously. You can still capture the magic of the rain afterwards – for instance by highlighting the puddles on the ground reflecting the clouds or the sparkling water drops on the leaves. But just take a look at the result for yourself!
