Aiming for a stronger presence in the video business, SIGMA dives into the market with a new series of cinema lenses. The optics is specifically designed for cinematography.
There’s an increasing demand for high resolution lenses and the Japanese company is reacting to this. First, Sigma will release two zoom lenses for cameras with EF and E mounts. These lenses are made for a 6K and 8K resolution. One year later some more zoom lenses and five focal lengths are said to follow up.
High Speed Zoom series:
This product line will be the first to be released on the market. To be more exact, this line will first include only two T2 constant aperture zoom lenses. In the beginning there will be a 18-35mm T2 and a 50-100mm T2. The FF zoom line is, as its name suggests, designed for the use of full frame cameras. First there will be a 24-35mm T2.2 FF.
The focal lengths of the FF High Speed Prime series that have already been announced are the following: 20 mm T1.5 FF, 24 mm T1.5 FF, 35 mm T1.5 FF, 50 mm T1.5 FF and 85 mm T1.5 FF.
So far Sigma has not published any price information.
