„Why didn’t I come up with that?“ That is exactly what I’m thinking whenever I look at photographs that stand out in creative and extraordinary ways. Just like the pictures by Nicolas Rivals.
In his photo project “La Línea Roja” he dedicates himself to the art of light painting. The French based photographer put red geometric light installations into mesmerizing, rough and untouched Spanish landscapes.
“To draw a red line” is a saying with usually negative connotations; it means to set limits for yourself and for others. A red line shouldn’t be crossed because doing so will or at least may have a negative impact.
Nicolas Rivals’s photographs show a not necessarily negative pursuit of the boundaries between humans and nature. The striking contrast between the natural and the artificial, between light and darkness creates a very special atmosphere that will capture you right from the first moment.
Without Photoshop, complicated 3D post-editing and other digital tricks Nicolas Rivals creates mystical sceneries with a long exposure.
You can see more of his “La Línea Roja” project and the rest of his work on his website. Enjoy 🙂
Love it high impact
