Canadian photographer Todd McLellan uses his origins from a home full of technicians and engineers to create a very special still life. In his photo series “Things Come Apart”, he uses very ordinary everyday items to arrange them in order to create photographic works of art.
For this purpose the Canadian takes them apart in every detail, re-arranges them with meticulous preciseness and love for every detail and then takes a picture of the pieces from a bird’s eye perspective. This way he creates abstract, fascinating and unusual photographs of technical items.
The photo series allows the photographer to combine his fascination for technology, his understanding of the ways in which the items work, and his love for photography. According to his own statement, the biggest project with the greatest effort was taking a piano apart and re-arranging it, which took him five days.
To all those who have become curious now, I can only recommend visiting his website. There you can find more of his works in his distinctive style: www.toddmclellan.com
