SIGMA – a few more news…

Hello everyone,

I’m sure you’ve all noticed that there’s been a lot going on at Sigma in the last weeks and months. Lenses with E-mount have been announced, which means we can now use Sigma lenses on Sony cameras without the MC-11 converter. We were also pleased to announce three new art optics. The two fixed focal lengths 105mm 1.4 and 70mm 2.8 as well as the zoom lens 14-24mm 2.8 are part of the new range of SIGMA.

Many new enhancements concerning the firmware of different optics were released, with which the optical performance can be further increased.  Vignetting, chromatic aberrations and distortion are to be named as three of the main improvements. With so many new releases and changes, we are eagerly awaiting their release dates. I am especially looking forward to the E-Mount lenses for the Sony system cameras, as I (at least partially) switched to Sony a few weeks ago. The light weight, the small size and the excellent picture quality convinced me and makes the Sony an ideal travel camera for me.

The new Sony E-Mount models are designed to offer the same high performance optical design as other Art Series lenses but feature a newly developed control algorithm that optimizes the autofocus drive and maximizes data transfer speed. Now only the compact and high-quality lenses are missing!

The SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art and the SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art for Sony E-Mount will start shipping in July 2018.
